Services for those experiencing homelessness

CAVBeachParkWoman.jpgYouth Outreach serves runaway and homeless youth, age 21 and under, through street outreach and drop-in medical and social services.  In 2006, YO provided 622 medical visits and 2,366 social service encounters.

Care-A-Van   provides families and individuals who are homeless with:

  • medical care
  • behavioral health counseling
  • food and clothing
  • job and shelter assistance
  • referrals to substance abuse treatment and other programs
  • mail and messages services.  
Last year, Care-A-Van provided 2,719 medical visits and 30,000 social service encounters.

Since the Next Step Shelter in Kaka`ako opened in 2006, Care-A-Van has provided social services five nights a week to the families and individuals staying there.
